Volunteering

Our extensive programme could not be delivered without the help of our fabulous volunteers! We have multiple volunteering opportunities within the programme, from teaching sports to mentoring younger children, so you can find something that is right for you! We also accept Young Volunteers from the age of 15, providing a platform for them to begin understanding the world of work and the responsibilities associated with it.

Please see the volunteering opportunities below:

Playscheme Young Volunteer

Playscheme Young Volunteers will generally be young people aged 15 - 17 years old who are looking to get their first taste of play work and coaching. These volunteers will interact with parents and children, supervise and mentor younger children and assist with sessions when necessary. Our Playscheme runs during every school holiday for 12 weeks of the year. Playscheme days are 9.30-4pm.

Youth Health and Fitness Advisor Volunteer

Volunteers will run weekly youth gym inductions for 13 - 17 year old youth members. These sessions run both in a group and individual format and generally last 45 minutes each. Induction slots are between 4.00pm and 6.00pm on weekdays. Volunteers must hold a level 2 Gym Instructor qualification or higher.

After School Sports Tutor Volunteer

Volunteers will assist qualified sports coaches to deliver specific sports sessions, learning and developing the skills needed to succeed in the coaching world. They will build an understanding of the needs of children and the methods behind engaging them. We have a number of after school sports which run between 3.00pm and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

After School Sports Assistant Volunteer

Volunteers will interact with parents and children around the Club, ensuring children are safe at all times, completing registers, helping tutors set up and pack down equipment and assisting sessions when necessary. We have a number of after school sports which run between 3.00pm and 6.00pm, Monday to Friday.

With all volunteer positions, we ask for a minimum commitment of 8 hours worked each month when the programme is running, with the exception of Playscheme Young Volunteers and Work Experience Students, which are required to commit to pre-agreed days or weeks. In return, we offer complimentary gym membership, staff uniform, access to Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses and the ability to give back to the local community during your time volunteering with us.
