Volunteer with us

Our extensive community programme could not be delivered without the help of our amazing volunteers! We have multiple volunteering opportunities here in the Club, from teaching sports to mentoring younger children, so you can find something that is right for you! We also have Young Volunteers from the age of 15, providing a platform for them to begin understanding the world of work and the responsibilities associated with it.

With all volunteer positions, we ask for a minimum commitment of 8 hours each month when the programme is running, with the exception of Playscheme Young Volunteers and Work Experience Students, which are required to commit to pre-agreed days or weeks. In return, we offer complimentary gym membership, staff uniform, access to Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses and the ability to give back to the local community during your time volunteering with us.

Our volunteering opportunities:

Playscheme Volunteer

Playscheme Young Volunteers will generally be young people aged 16 – 21 years old who are looking to get their first taste of play work and coaching. These volunteers will interact with parents and children, supervise and mentor younger children and assist with sessions when necessary. Our Playscheme runs during every school holiday for 12 weeks of the year.

Playscheme Young Mentor

Playscheme Young Mentors will be aged 13 - 15 and will support the younger children, providing them with a positive role model and supporting them in their sessions. The Young Mentor role is the perfect development pathway between a child on our programmes to a Playscheme Volunteer

Youth Health and Fitness Advisor Volunteer

Volunteers will run weekly youth gym inductions for 13 - 17 year old youth members. These sessions run both in a group and individual format and generally last 45 minutes each. Induction slots are between 4.00pm and 6.00pm on weekdays. Volunteers must hold a level 2 Gym Instructor qualification or higher.

Work Experience

Work Experience is available for students who require a placement as part of their education. Work experience students will support the CYP team to deliver sports sessions internally and within schools, whilst also undertaking admin.
