Huge congratulations to Anthony Bryan, one of our Health and Fitness Advisors, who has been selected to compete for Team England at the 2018 CPISRA World Games in Barcelona.
Anthony, who suffers from cerebral palsy caused by a brain tumour at the age of six, will be competing in the 800m & 1500m at the event in August.
Over the last few months his programme has consisted of hard training camps and gym work. Training six days a week – three of which are double sessions on the track – in order to achieve his dream of winning gold.
Anthony soon jets off to Barcelona to compete against the best athletes from all over the world.
“I am very excited and looking forward to the games. Training is going well and it is now all about the final tuning and preparations coming into the last week before I go. I received my England Kit this week and now I really can’t wait to now get out there and represent my country!”
You can help Anthony reach his goal by making a contribution to his funding page here. The money raised will go towards training, competition and travel costs and any contribution - however small - would be greatly appreciated. You can follow his preparations and progress via his Facebook and Instagram accounts.
On behalf of everyone at Central YMCA, we’d like to wish Anthony the best of luck as he goes for gold!
