YMCA Club members get lots of fabulous discounts and the newest addition to our roster is no exception. Tang London, a noodle bar discreetly located between the gym and VQ, is offering 25% off for all YMCA Club members. So, we thought we’d go along and have a taste...
Tang is a hidden gem, blink and you might miss the doorway entrance to the small but stylish restaurant. The concept is based on the intimate noodle bars of the far East, where you can enjoy a hearty bowl of flavoursome noodles. The perfect place to relax after work or after a workout.
We were greeted by Chen, the chef, who was keen to tell us that she is evolving the menu as she goes based on what her clients like. The menu is very focused, with only a few starters and mains to choose from, but with an open kitchen and the concentration you see going into each dish, this is definitely a positive.
To start, we tried the tasty Fried Chicken and Black and White - crispy homemade black bean tofu. Tang is described as soul food - all organic and dairy free - with much of it also gluten free. The dishes were delicious, full of flavour and healthy too - especially the tofu. Chen informed us that even the fried chicken is far healthier than you would expect because without the gluten, there is far less absorbed oil, making for a crispier, healthier snack.
For mains, we sampled the Chicken Tang and the Prawn Tang. Tang, by the way, means soup. These were again very healthy and full of flavour - very reasonably priced as well - and even more so with the member discount.
Tang is definitely a place we’d go back to for the perfect post workout meal.
To claim your discount simply show your membership card. Tang London only takes reservations for 8 people and above, otherwise the noodle bar is a walk-in only restaurant. The menu is also available to take away. To find out more visit tanglondon.co.uk.
