'Exercise Through the Ages' for our 175th birthday!

The YMCA global movement will turn 175 on 6th June. Given that we’re the first ever YMCA on the planet, the UK’s leading health, fitness and education charity and central London’s largest gym, the YMCA has got a lot to celebrate!

The YMCA Club will be hosting a number of anniversary activities to mark this happy occasion and we’d love for you to get involved. Our celebrations will be for all ages and communities – everyone is welcome. So how are we celebrating our achievements?

YMCA Heritage Exhibition – FREE EXHIBITION
Open from Thurs 6th June around the YMCA Club

The YMCA has a rich history and has been helping people improve their mind, body and spirit since 1844. Journey with us from the vision of our Christian founder, Sir George Williams, who was angered by his colleagues’ terrible living conditions in London, to the famous YMCA triangle logo which became a sign of peace and provision for soldiers during the Second World War, through to the present day – an international movement which continues to transform thousands of lives through health, wellbeing, fitness and education.

Early Club closure on Thurs 6th June

Please note that due to our staff birthday party on the evening of Thurs 6th June, the YMCA Club will wind down from 3pm and will be closed to the public from 3.30pm that day. Thanks for your understanding.
