Coronavirus update

Some of you may have heard the announcement from our Prime Minister in response to the COVID-19 virus, where the Government has taken steps to close all leisure centres from Friday 20 March.

As such YMCA Club is now closed until further notice.

We hope you will understand that this action is inevitable and is taken with the hope of curtailing the spread of the virus.

We have decided to freeze all Club memberships with immediate effect. You don’t need to take any action for this to happen, it is automatic.

For our direct debit paying members, your membership will remain dormant and no further fees will be taken until the Club re-opens.

For members who have paid their membership in full for the year, we will automatically add the length of the club closure to your membership, once the Club re-opens.

The work of the Charity continues in other ways, and we are busy developing ways that we can bring the Club experience online through our social media channels. We are also committed to supporting our members, volunteers, staff and the wider community during these challenging times.

This decision to freeze all Club memberships is the right one, but we cannot insulate the Charity from the financial implications of this completely. The Government has announced reassuring measures to support our staff over this period, however this help will not be immediate, and the Charity has many costs we must continue to meet.

If you are in a position to – and would like to – continue to support our ongoing charitable work, you can opt in to restart your membership by contacting the Club team at club.reception@ymca.co.uk or make a one-off donation through the website. Any support would be gratefully received but is not expected.

Through this period there will be more questions – so please do contact the Club team at club.reception@ymca.co.uk and we will answer as quickly as we can.

Please look after yourselves and we look forward to welcoming you back.
