Mindfulness takes you 'out of your head'. It is an exercise of gently relocating your attention, taking it out of your constant internal chatter and worrying and into your awareness of being here, in the body, in the world. With this awareness you become more conscious of your thoughts and emotions, and this gives you more freedom and choice over how you respond to your experience.
