Central YMCA Club: Cycling Studio

Our brand new indoor cycling studio offers a fantastic and popular opportunity to work out either during a high tempo cycling class or individually between classes, working to your own pace. Besides being a great form of aerobic activity (burning between 400-600 calories in 40 minutes), group cycling is also beneficial in strengthening the muscles of the lower body.

Please note our Cycling Studio etiquette:

  • Please refrain from reserving bikes with either water bottles or tissue paper. The Instructor will remove these items to allow another member to use the bike
  • Please wear suitable attire whilst using the studios. For example, t-shirts, aerobic tops, shorts or tracksuits. No open toe footwear, boots or jeans are permitted
  • Do not operate your mobile phone during a studio class
  • Refrain from consuming food, hot drinks and chewing gum. Only plastic water bottles allowed in the studio
  • Report any injuries to the Instructor immediately
  • Please show respect and consideration to the instructor and other class participants
  • NO offensive language, behaviour or dialogue will be tolerated
  • Consumption of alcohol and banned substances are strictly prohibited.
  • NO entry to the back cupboard, this is a staff only area. Members are not permitted to use the stereo or switch on the air conditioning unit (NO EXCEPTIONS).
  • The door to the cycle studio is to be kept closed at all times.
  • Please make sure the cycles and the surrounding floor area are wiped down after use with the tissue and spray provided.
  • Earphones and iPods are to be removed from use during a class.
